Stockholm, Sweden – [27.01.2026] – In late 2024 Telenor Nordics, part of the Telenor Group, selected Scalstrm AB to deliver its next-generation streaming platform for live-TV and Video on Demand across the Nordic region, leveraging the Scalstrm Origin platform to upgrade performance, efficiency, and scale.
Telenor is replacing its legacy video streaming infrastructure in three countries with Scalstrm’s Origin and Packaging platform in the cloud to serve over 1 million subscribers in the Nordics spanning Finland, Norway and Sweden. This platform will provide advanced video processing for a comprehensive suite of modern TV services, including Live TV, Start-Over, Catch-Up TV, Network PVR (nPVR), and Video On Demand (VOD). The implementation is well on its way with ongoing migration of content archives, and the first three live-TV channels have been deployed to customers in Telenor’s Finnish operation, DNA,

Scalstrm Origin introduces a flexible cloud deployment model. It’s foundation on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) ensures rapid deployment and efficient resource utilization. As a next step Just-In-Time (JIT) Transcoding will be introduced to enable dynamic content packaging on-demand, reducing storage footprint and optimizing compute cost while maintaining high-quality streaming.
