Scalstrm, a leader in innovative and sustainable video delivery solutions, has appointed Simon Clarke as Senior Sales Director, UK & Ireland. The appointment marks Scalstrm’s entry into the UK market, following the company’s growth across the Nordics and Benelux.
Simon joins Scalstrm with over a decade of experience selling into the broadcast, Pay-TV and OTT sectors. He joins from Dalet, where he served as Sales Director for the UK & Ireland territory, working with accounts including the BBC, BBC Studios, Sky Sports and DAZN. Prior to Dalet, Simon held sales and technical roles at Amagi and AWS Elemental, where he worked on cloud and streaming projects for broadcasters and platforms such as ITV, MBC and Viaplay, as well as earlier positions at Elemental Technologies and Harmonic supporting customer success and technical operations.
In his new role, Simon will lead Scalstrm’s go-to-market strategy across the UK and Ireland, building relationships with broadcasters, Pay-TV operators, telcos and OTT platforms as Scalstrm brings its Transcoding, Packaging and Delivery platform to one of the world’s largest and most complex broadcast markets.
“Simon brings a strong combination of commercial leadership, industry knowledge and deep experience across the broadcast and streaming ecosystem,” said Patrik Alm and Ola Bengtsson, Founders of Scalstrm. “His understanding of the UK market and his customer-focused approach make him a valuable addition to our team as we continue to grow our presence in the region. We are delighted to welcome him to Scalstrm.”
“I’m excited to join Scalstrm at this stage of its growth,” said Simon Clarke, Senior Sales Director, UK & Ireland. “The UK market is going through a significant technology shift, and Scalstrm’s platform is well placed to support broadcasters and platforms as they modernise their infrastructure. I’m looking forward to building strong relationships across the industry.”
As Scalstrm establishes its UK presence, Simon’s appointment supports the company’s ambition to bring its platform to broadcasters and streaming platforms navigating the shift to cloud-based, multi-format workflows.
